How Ranking Points Work
Rankings are generated from confirmed results after they are processed. Player and team rankings are tracked separately.
((200 + skill_bonus + upset_bonus) * time_decay * visibility * tier) + (placement_bonus * visibility, if eligible)
Recent wins count more
Matches decay over time: 100% in the first 3 months, dropping to 90% in 3–6 months, down to 50% after 9 months.
Only your best matches count
Your ranking is built from your top 40 results from the last 12 months. Below that, matches don't count toward your score.
Example Calculation
Beginner player beats Advanced opponent in a public tournament final
200 pts base (tournament win)
+ 150 pts skill bonus (Beginner vs Advanced)
+ 50 pts upset (winner outside top 15 beats a top 15 opponent)
= 400 pts subtotal
× 1.00 time (fresh result)
× 1.00 visibility (public event)
× 1.00 tier (bronze tier)
+ 500 pts placement (finalized champion bonus)
= 900 pts earned
